Maya battled Coronavirus March, 2020 one of the first young females infected, hospitalized for 69 days, in a 30 day medically induced coma and ventilator for 6 weeks. Maya was clinically diagnosed with long Covid September, 2020. She lost her hair and voice, had to re-learn how to walk, talk and eat normally. Maya was hospitalized with a second bout of Covid the sub variant Omicron BA.5 September 1, 2022 for 9 days. She is recovering steadily with her family and dog Sergio by her side in Niskayuna, NY.
